John is a remarkable professional Music Educator who has dedicated his life to the transformative power of music education. He is an individual whose heart beats to the rhythm of music. Through his tireless efforts, he has become a beacon of hope, championing causes that promote music for people of all ages and races.


One of the fundamental sources of John's motivation lies in the radiant smiles that adorn the faces of children he encounters each day. These smiles, filled with joy and wonder, serve as a testament to the transformative power of music. It is this profound impact that has fueled John's unwavering dedication to his noble mission.

I have always said to him that he's got more rhythm in his little finger than most people have in their entire bodies.


With an impressive educational background, John Chitambo has honed his expertise and knowledge to become a leading figure in the field of music education. He holds a Master's degree (MMus) in Music Education from the prestigious European University Cyprus in Cyprus. His thirst for knowledge led him to obtain a Bachelor's degree (Hons) in Music (BMus) from the esteemed University of Pretoria in South Africa. Additionally, John earned a Music Teachers’ Diploma from the renowned Evelyn Hone College of Applied Arts and Commerce in Lusaka, Zambia, where he majored in piano and saxophone; He is also certified in violin performance by Trinity College London and has extensive experience in Orchestration, Brass band and Choral conducting. His extensive educational journey has provided him with a strong foundation upon which he has built his career.


Throughout his illustrious career, John Chitambo has left his mark on various corners of the globe. He has taught music in several countries, including his home country of Zambia, as well as Botswana and Seychelles where he served as Head of Music Department. Each experience has enriched his understanding of different cultures and broadened his perspective on the universality of music.


Currently, John serves as the Head of the Preparatory Music Department at a distinguished British International School in Malaysia. His leadership and expertise have made a profound impact on countless young minds, shaping the next generation of musicians and music lovers.


John's dedication to the advancement of music education extends beyond his role as an educator. He has also contributed significantly to the professional music education community as the Vice President for the East African region of PASMAE-ISME (Pan-African Society for Musical Arts Education-International Society for Music Education). Through this esteemed position, he has facilitated collaboration and knowledge sharing among music educators, amplifying the collective voice for music education in the region. It seems John knows how to put the "African beat" in administration. He's all about bringing music educators together, creating a symphony of collaboration, and making sure everyone's singing from the same sheet music.
